Bikini season is right around the corner. No, I am not ready for it by any means! Can I tell you a little secret? I have been paying for a gym membership for the past year and I have gone once or twice. Shameful! I just find lots of excuses why not to go – my daughter is not used to strangers, I have no idea what to do there, I don’t have anyone to go with, etc. One thing that I try to get done at home though, is fitness videos. So without further ado I want to show you some of my favorites and some new ones that I am about to try:
30 Day Shred – An easy concept. A 20minute exercise for 10 days at level 1, then move up to level 2 and then level 3. It kicks your butt for sure. I tried this a couple of time but unfortunately never finish the whole thing. You are suppose to do this everyday for 30days.
Ripped in 30 – this is her follow up for 30 Day shred. It is currently on my to buy list. Most of the reviews on Amazon gave it a thumbs up. I just need to dedicate 30 days to the plan. How hard can it be? ;)
Note: It seems that all of Jillian’s videos are hits with those wanting to squeeze a good fast workout at home.
Abs for Dummies – This is a long somewhat boring video and the music is not the best, but after working your abs for an hour you will feel the pain, in your abs that is. She has a 10 min version in there as well. I used to do it 3 times a week. That was before I had a baby of course, three years ago!
Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire – Chalene Johnson is a fire cracker. She is always so cheery and ready to go. The music is a little cheesy but always upbeat. I first tried Turbo Jam about three years ago and I love it. It kicked my butt. Chalene is a local to Orange County and actually teaches Turbo Kick (same as Turbo Jam) at a local 24 Hours Fitness. Maybe one of these days I can take the class from her.
ChaLean - this is something I would love to try. I met a gal who actually got in shape with this video. The only problem I see with this video is making sure that I have the proper form when I do it. I am the worst person when it comes to proper from, I am a big sloucher and try to rush through things like that.
I know that there are a lot of great videos out there just like PX90/PX Burn, The Firm, Dancing with the Stars, Bob from the biggest looser even Jane Austin but in the end who wants to have over 100 workout videos at home. Here is also a link to Fitness Magazine’s 2012 Top list. Do you have a favorite one?
Also to keep me inspired I keep a fitness board on Pinterest. Now I just have to start exercising.
